Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based, action-oriented, short-term, and practical therapy that can help address a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, relationship or identity issues, and traumatic memories. With its focus on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, CBT is a powerful tool for improving mental health and overall well-being.
Working with Children and Adolescents
As a therapist for children and adolescents, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where young people can explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe that every child has the potential to thrive, and my role is to help them develop the skills and resilience they need to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Through a combination of talk therapy, play therapy, and other evidence-based techniques, I work with my clients to build self-esteem, improve communication, and develop healthy coping strategies. Whether a child is struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or other issues, I am committed to providing compassionate and effective care that meets their unique needs.
Parent Training
I specialize in evidence-based programs that help parents decrease conflict and child behavioral difficulties while improving child compliance and the parent-child relationship. I have received training in seven distinct evidence-based parenting programs. These programs address various aspects of assisting parents in supporting their children. Depending on each family’s unique needs, I integrate these approaches to create a tailored treatment plan. Empowering parents to help their children is among the most gratifying work that I am privileged to do as it has positive impacts on the entire family.
SPACE Parent Program to Help Children with Anxiety
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. This remarkable program empowers parents to support their children in overcoming anxiety. It becomes especially crucial when the child is either too young or unwilling to actively participate in treatment.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a powerful tool that can be used in therapy to help individuals become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. By practicing mindfulness, individuals can learn to observe their experiences without judgment, which can help them gain greater self-awareness and emotional regulation skills. Mindfulness-based interventions have been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Incorporating mindfulness into therapy can help individuals develop a greater sense of well-being and improve their overall quality of life.
